The Long & Winding Week

This week seems like its taking forever. At my day job we had server migration status was supposed to take a day that I’ve taken a week now I had an event that I’d planned to have never done anything like that before that was due to go off on Friday, plus my second job kick in before Gary this week. And with her second job goes well is not even writing I’m trying to write a book around everything that’s going on.

The servers went badly, the event went swimmingly, and my second job well, I’ll get used to it. I do however have the best quote of the week.

It comes courtesy of my sergeant on late shift, who was regaling me with tales of stupid folks who get sent to the hospital with extra ventilation than they woke up with that day. “What’s really great, is that the guy brought a gun to a knife fight… and lost.”

Lesson of the week then, is that superior firepower does not always mean that you will prevail. Just something about.

Quietly Surprised

It’s been a banner day here in Indiana, Indy as a city, and my life, which this week has been locked in a shitstorm tractor beam.

The brightest spot of all has been today’s ruling by a federal judge striking down the ban on same-sex marriage (or, as it is understood in my house, ‘marriage’) as unconstitutional under the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. Friday, my first massive fundraising event that I’ve ever planned myself, will go live and I plan to put in a ridiculous amount of work to may it pay off, but I know that it will. I’m pretty damn excited and I know it’ll be worth it in the end.

In the meantime, I’m running on fumes and will be happy to see my weekend come, when I can be free to dispatch at my

Leaking out the edges

So I get stressed, and that tends to put a damper on my writing. Sometimes it’s like it chokes off the flow to that particular muse and I’m left bereft for a bit. But alas, creativity will not be denied. It’s a river that will overtake its banks if it’s stymied too long. My friends will tell you that I have an unreal number of creative hobbies, designed to keep my hands and brain busy and to keep the muses fed and exercised. Right now, I’m learning how to play with photo editing, and as such, am currently a poster-making fiend. I’ll put them up soon, but here’s a sneak preview.

She’s the villain in my upcoming novel, The Ex File. I can’t wait to share the rest with you!
